What The Word Equality Means for Me

Equality is often considered that everyone should be treated the same regardless of their individual characteristics. A women should be treated the same as a man, and a man should be treated the same as a women. However, I do not think it makes sense to completely treat both genders equally, because there is obviously differences between the 2 genders which is why there are separate categories for them. Men on average are stronger than women, so men of course are more suited for heavy lifting jobs just like women have a better body for being in a high altitude which is why women can be better airplane pilots. Instead of focusing on treating people equal based on physical characteristics, there should be more focus on fairness. For example, both men and women should be treated with respect, and although there are differences between the genders, one should not be considered superior to the other. Both men and women should be given the same rights, and be protected by the same laws. In addition, minorities, as well as handicapped and people who are different should all be treated with the same respect and given the same rights as well.
